There are a number of terms used frequently to describe functions or components in LabelEd. The most common ones are outlined below:
Items
An item within LabelEd can be a product, a news article, an FAQ, or any other single entity within your site. They can be customised depending on your needs, but they will always appear under the "Item Management" section of the Administration menu, and you will usually have several of them.
Assets
An asset is a type of item with one or more pieces of media attached, such as an image or a file. A gallery is also an asset, as it usually has one or more images associated with it.
Collections and categories
Collections and categories within LabelEd are one and the same. "Collection" is the more technical term we use when we talk about any sort of groupings of items, but they are most often referred to as categories in the administration interfaces.
